Bicep
Feel My Bicep
Shooting onto the scene through the intergalactic-blogosphere, Feel My Bicep is testament to their impeccable taste digging the crates for hidden-gems across the last 40 years of club culture.
The Northern Irish duo Bicep have been getting a lot of attention following a sell out debut EP on New York's Throne of Blood records. The last 6 months have also seen releases and remixes on Domino, Wolf music, Mystery Meat and RVNG.
After a number of European dates - highlights included hosting a 'Feel my Bicep' room at Space Ibiza's Sunday party We Love, the boys are now back in London to begin hosting their new monthly residency at legendary club Plastic People.
Bicep on their mix: "We set about doing this mix as kind of our soundtrack for the past year. It's a collection of new and old tracks that we have been wanting to get on tape for a while.

Bright Light Bright Light
Dearly Beloved
Bright Light Bright Light is the moniker of Welsh-born, London-based artist Rod Thomas. With his mix of electro-pop that draws inspiration from the late 80s and early 90s, Rod has toured with Ellie Goulding on her sold-out UK tour, opened for Erasure, played at SXSW, Bestival and Glastonbury, remixed Kelis and Ellie Goulding, and been highlighted by The Guardian and Sunday Times Culture as one to watch. Alongside making music, he co-runs London 90s clubnight 'Another Night', and guest DJs for Dirtbox, Sink The Pink, and Dick & Fanny. His debut single 'Love Part II' was one of the first signings to the Popjustice HiFi label, and the follow up 'Disco Moment' prompted the NME to call him "the boy Robyn in all but name".
Rod on his mix tape: 'When we started running 'Another Night' it was amazing to be able to play songs that weren't huge chart hits and still get people dancing. I fell in love with tracks like 'Don't Lose The Magic' and 'Leash Called Love' all over again. Dearly Beloved is a delve into the club cuts and remixes that have helped warm up my cold December and January, and a fun blast of 90s mixed with some slightly more current tracks and a bootleg I made of two of my favourite tracks that hopefully is as much fun to listen to as it was to mix.'
Bright Light Bright Light's debut album 'Make Me Believe In Hope' is out in Spring 2012. For more details visit www.brightlightx2.com

Jamie Bull
Freakin' and Peakin'
This weeks podcast Freakin' and Peakin' from Jamie Bull. Resident at Manchester's HomoElectric and a serious lover of (nu)disco, boogie and deep house with an emphasis on fun. Jamie has played alongside Horse Meat Disco, Roisin Murphy, Crazy P, Maurice Fulton and Disco Bloodbath.
2010 saw Jamie branching into production to work on his own re-edits and remixes. His re-edit of the Diana Ross disco classic ‘No One Gets The Prize’ has gained worldwide praise, whilst his recent remixes for Robyn and Roisin Murphy lead him to working on forthcoming material of his own.

His mixtapes have attracted a growing fanbase; A bubbling menagerie of disco, house and italo, old and new, edited and then re-edited again. When dancing to one of Jamie's sets, expect shifts between underground disco, chi-town house and balearic pop.
Homoelectric takes over The Shacklewell Arms this Saturday from 10pm.

Lucy Locket
Toe Tappers
Since being a resident of SpeedQueen in Leeds Lucy has since gone back to her first and only true love; Disco. Once SpeedQueen ended in 2006 Lucy decided to concentrate on buying the records that made her happy, building a collection to be proud of.
A meeting of minds led to an opportunity for Lucy to play on the same bill as some her heroes at Northern Disco in Manchester. These included Al Kent, Dimitri From Paris, Rahaan and Kon. Through these influencers she learnt more about music than she ever could have hoped to discover from her own digging sessions.
Lucy on Toe Tappers .Toe Tappers is a bit of a slow burner (about 96-98bpm), and isn.t it strictly disco all the way through. It was one of those mixes I put together so I could listen to some favourites rather than one intended for public consumption. It features the most valuable record in my collection, which is mixed in to one of the 7.s from my childhood days, bought for a quid from Boots. The mix was recorded in one take using all vinyl, no post-production, it.s not perfect and I hope you like it..
